Quikkit has never sold the Seahawk kit or aquired any of the companies that did sell the Seahawks, and therefore we have no responsibility or obligation to support those kits in any way.

Warning!
From our own very personal experience, the original Seahawk is potentially a very dangerous aircraft. There have been quite a number of them crash, and those crashes have resulted in death and/or very serious injuries in several cases.

Since the Glass Goose program has begun to see its kits being completed and flying very successfully, there has been a renewed interest in the older Seahawk and Seahawker kits and planes that sat idle for as many as 17 years. The potential buyers of those kits have been approaching Quikkit expecting assistance with modifying the Seahawks to bring them up to the standards of the Glass Goose. When a person contacts us to inquire about possibly acquiring a Seahawk (completed or kit), it places us in a very difficult position. We are in business to sell Glass Gooses. We are not in business to support Seahawks.

In the past Quikkit has spent a lot of time explaining the Seahawk and its history and its problems to people. We can no longer afford the time it takes to deal with all that unless we are being paid to do so.

Therefore, if you have an interest in a Seahawk kit, plane, project, or whatever, then these are the steps we recommend you take.

  • First, read the history of the SeaHawk/SeaHawker.
  • Second, order our Video, Info Pac and Newsletter Package. The cost is $100. If you think that is too much to spend to inform yourself about what you are getting into, then you are doing the wrong thing to begin with. The Newsletter Package includes all 18 of the newsletters that have been written over the years from the time we discovered the Seahawk had some serious problems, until just a few years ago when the problems were all solved and the Glass Goose had been created in the process.
  • This newsletter package is approximately 1 inch thick, 8 1/2 x 11 pages, printed both sides. That is a large book by most standards. It is in effect, a veritable history of all the Seahawk problems, and the evolution of the Seahawk into the Glass Goose. It has been described as "riveting" and "I couldn't put it down". But most importantly it explains in detail what you need to be concerned about with respect to the Seahawk. It is "must reading" for anyone that is planning on trusting his life to a Seahawk. Purchasing this package also gives me some reasonable justification to spend a little time with you on the phone if you are still interested in pursuing the project after reading the material.

  • Third, you should purchase the complete Glass Goose Assembly Instructions. The price is $300. After giving them the once over, and talking to me a little, you will have a good idea of just what will be involved in bringing a Seahawk up to Glass Goose standards.
  • The Seahawk can not be modified without these instructions. The entire set is over 1" thick, printed on 11" X 17" pages both sides. There are hundreds of pictures and CAD drawings, and it is extremely well organized. It has been described as the best set of instructions in the kit plane business.

  • Forth, you should be prepared to spend as much as $16,000 with Quikkit for the necessary hardware and other parts to accomplish the conversion. It could be less, depending on the results of several inspections. If the wings pass inspection, that amount could be as little as $10,000.
  • Fifth, you should be prepared to spend a lot of time to accomplish the conversion.
Please understand that Quikkit simply cannot answer any questions concerning Seahawks without you making an investment in the information that is available before we talk. In this way, you will have most of your questions answered before we talk. You will have the foundation necessary for us to talk without me trying to explain the details of 18 years of effort. You will understand better than you would if we tried to explain it on the phone, and Quikkit will have a made some money for our work.

If you actually intend to fly a Seahawk, this is the best investment in information you will ever make in your entire life.

Blue Skies and Tail Winds,
