Forward Battery Dimensions
If anyone wants to build the battery box in the forward nose compartment, before buying the battery recommended by Quikkit, you can build a cardboard model of this battery to use in sizing. The dimensions of the battery are:

6.75 inches long x 4 inches wide x 7 inches high

The terminals are on the top of the battery (the posts stick up) and are recessed into the two corners on the long side of the battery. When the cables are attached, there is really nothing sticking up above the maximum height of the battery. The terminals (and cables) will face towards the center of airplane.

There is plenty of clearance above the terminals. It is only the forward, outside, upper corner of the battery that comes into close proximity with the upper nose piece where there is any clearance concern.
